How to play
- Tap Play to fly the next stage. A 3-2-1 countdown starts the flight.
- Hold the phone however is comfortable during the countdown — sitting, standing or lying down. That position becomes straight ahead.
- Tilt to steer through the wormhole and keep off the walls.
- Tap Fire (bottom right) to shoot the asteroids in your way, and hold Boost (bottom left) for extra speed.
- Cross the gold finish gate to clear the stage.
Steering
Out of the box both directions are inverted: tilting left steers right, and tipping the top edge away from you dives. To change either, tap the gear on the title screen and switch Invert left and right or Invert up and down off.
If the ship drifts when you think you're holding still, tap the scope button (top left) mid-flight to make your current position straight ahead again.
You don't touch the screen to steer, and the screen stays awake while the game is open.
Shield and hull
- Touching a wall or flying into an asteroid does damage. The shield takes it first and recharges after a short break.
- What the shield can't hold goes to the hull. Only a hull-fix bonus repairs it; when it's gone, the run is over.
- Bonuses float in the tunnel: shield repair, hull fix, rapid fire, fuel and patches. Fly through them or shoot them.
Stars
Each stage has three: one for finishing, one for finishing with the hull intact, and one for beating par. The extra two have to come in the same run, and par takes boosting hard.
Patches and fuel
- When the hull breaks on a stage, the ship's patch gets it flying again. The hangar makes a new patch every hour, and patch bonuses let the ship carry up to 3.
- Every stage burns fuel. A full tank is about 12 minutes of flying, and it refills by itself over 4 hours, even while the app is closed. A crash gives back the fuel for the part you didn't fly.
- Out of patches or low on fuel? Wait, or choose Repair now / Refuel now and watch a short video.
- The endless flight is free: no fuel, no patches.
Rocks and upgrades
Every asteroid you shoot in a stage earns a rock. Spend them in Upgrades on shield plating, shield charger, hull reinforcement, laser loader, efficient engines, steering servos and boost injectors. There are also screen bombs, which clear the tunnel ahead, and a perpetual laser cannon that never needs to reload. Replaying stages earns rocks again.
Ads
Ads keep Spacerun free. Videos for a repair, fuel or 5 rocks are always your choice — you can keep playing without them. A short ad may also appear after every second stage you finish.
If you see “No ad available just now”, there's simply no ad to show at the moment. Check your connection and try again in a little while.
My progress
Your stars, best times, rocks, upgrades, fuel and patches are saved on this device. They don't move to another device, and deleting the app resets them.
Sound
Sounds follow your phone's silent switch — if you hear nothing, check it. Music plays between flights and gives way to music or podcasts you're already playing.
